Life's Journey: From Priesthood to Service

In 1954, at the age of 12, I embarked on a path to become a priest. Little did I know that this journey would span over 14 years, encompassing education in various disciplines such as gymnasium, novitiate, philosophy, and theology. As I immersed myself in this dedicated pursuit, I had the privilege of becoming acquainted with the Jewish world and cultivating a deeper understanding of the Bible.

A Shift in Perspective: Embracing a New Chapter

After serving as a priest for two meaningful years, I realized the importance of having someone who could stand opposed to me in life. With mutual understanding, I made the decision to leave the monastery and embark on a new chapter. This new path led me to marriage and welcomed the arrival of three precious children, with the subsequent generation blessing me with four cherished grandchildren.

A Legacy of Teaching and Guidance

Since 1971, I have dedicated myself to the role of teaching catechism to Catholic students in various institutions, ultimately finding myself at IPABO in Amsterdam and Alkmaar. As I reached the age of 65 in 2007 and transitioned into retirement, I remained committed to providing pastoral support as a volunteer in parishes and care homes, offering solace and guidance to those in need.

Beyond my direct involvement in pastoral care, I found my voice in the realm of publishing. Through extensive contributions to liturgy, evangelism, and biblical study groups, I have sought to share my knowledge and insights with individuals and communities seeking spiritual growth.
